TENWEST AMT Festival (Art/Music/Technology)
This one-day conference, laboratory and performance series explores the intersection of art, music and technology. Founded in 2017 by MOCA Tucson’s former Executive Director and Chief Curator Ginger Shulick Porcella in San Diego, AMT highlights the best creative thinkers locally, nationally, and internationally. This multi-disciplinary festival features cutting-edge performances, music hacking, and demos that connect artists, students, technologists, researchers, thought leaders, and businesses in a vibrant environment. The event is designed to raise awareness of the world-class art, music, and technology being created in Tucson, while connecting participants to a global creative community.
Programs will focus on three different areas: the integration of video game hardware/software in art, science and music; data visualization and sonification; and trends in electronic and experimental music. During lunch there are optional plenary sessions including hands-on workshops in circuit bending and Ableton, and the end of the day will culminate in a closing cocktail reception and multimedia performance by Princess (Alexis Gideon and Michael O’Neill) in MOCA Tucson’s Great Hall.
