Mission

The mission of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Tucson is to champion the art and artists shaping our time. Through exhibitions, public programs, and community partnerships, MOCA fosters critical dialogue and supports creative experimentation rooted in the Sonoran Desert. The museum is committed to cultivating inclusive spaces where diverse perspectives can converge, challenge, and inspire one another.

History

The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Tucson is a contemporary art museum located in Tucson, Arizona. Established by artists in 1997, MOCA is an important site for art in the Sonoran Desert region and serves as a critical intersection for artists and ideas that are regionally-specific and globally relevant.

MOCA Tucson resides on the ancestral lands of the Tohono O’odham.

Employment Opportunities

MOCA offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals looking to build skills and community in the exciting context of a contemporary art museum. Greet and orient visitors MOCA shop, support our weekly/monthly museum programs and special events, and much more. 

Internships are available on a limited basis in various departments at MOCA, including Public Programs, Exhibitions, and Education. To inquire, please send your CV and a cover letter expressing your interest.

  • Thursday – Saturday: 11am – 6pm

    Sunday: 11am – 4pm

    MOCA will be closed Thursday, November 13 for installation. Please visit us when we reopen on Friday, November 14!

  • Adults $7, Students and Seniors $4, Youth Free.

     

    Admission is free on Sundays.

  • MOCA is proud to be a League of American Bicyclists recognized Bronze Seal Bicycle Friendly Business! We are conveniently located half a mile from the Santa Cruz River Path, the El Paso + Southwestern Greenway and right off the Cushing bike route providing safe paths to the Museum with bicycle racks out front.

  • Metered parking (accepts both cash and card) is available in front of the Museum on McCormick St., and east of the Museum on Stone Ave. Paid parking is available in the Convention Center lot across Church Ave. and in the La Placita parking garage on Church Ave near Broadway Blvd. Free two-hour parking is available in the Barrio Viejo where Church Ave. becomes Convent Ave. across Cushing St. 

  • Designated accessible parking (with access to a ramp) is available on the south side of McCormick St. in front of MOCA. MOCA has an accessible restroom in the lobby and all exhibition and lecture spaces are ADA compliant. MOCA is committed to providing access to the arts for everyone; for additional information or to arrange accommodations, please call MOCA’s front desk at 520.624.5019 or email info@moca-tucson.org.

  • Unique among downtown Tucson hotels, the Hotel McCoy offers stylish accommodations at the edge of barrios Menlo Park and Santa Cruz, just a few minutes drive from MOCA. This 1960s mid-century modern art hotel features an onsite art gallery and in-room art, beer and wine, and coffee and tea, all by local and regional artists and vendors. Visitors staying at the Hotel McCoy receive free admission at MOCA.
