SCREENING – FEELINGS ARE FACTS: THE LIFE OF YVONNE RAINER

Southern Arizona Senior Pride, MOCA, and the Loft Cinema present Feelings Are Facts: The Life of Yvonne Rainer, a documentary about one of America’s most important choreographers and avant-garde filmmakers.

Feelings Are Facts chronicles the defiant, uncompromising, and highly influential ideas of postmodern choreographer and filmmaker Yvonne Rainer. Over the course of her career, she revolutionized modern dance, generated what later became known as performance art, and changed the basic tenets of experimental filmmaking - all during a time when women were largely ignored in the art world. Award winning documentary filmmaker, Jack Walsh, a Tucson resident, co-produced and directed the film.

The documentary is presented by Southern Arizona Senior Pride as part of its on-going film series highlighting the contributions and history of the LGBTQI+ community.

The screening will take place at The Loft Cinema located at 3233 E. Speedway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85716. Tickets for the event are free, courtesy of Southern Arizona Senior Pride. For cinema access information, please visit The Loft’s website.
